number 11 for 7-27-05:

The Ball is in God's Court

The party line is that you will be placed in judgment before you enter or are denied Heaven.

Today, screw God judging me. God is now on trial.

God, if you are great and mighty, tell me, in your supernatural way (read: unknowable), why you allow the following:

The eight-year-old boy who hit his sister with a 2X4 until she died.

      A man who murdered a five-year-old girl.

The man who needed to pass a drug test, so he gave his daughter a drug that he was taking (one the doctor knew about) so her pee would be like his. Problem being, he gave her his dose, and now she's in the hospital.

     Citation

Day care managers who force the kids they care for to eat worms, smell feet, and other forms of torture, from people who shouldn't have been given a license to begin with.

     Citation

The mother who was more concerned with the window of her Audi then her child's safety, to the point of where in this record-breaking heat wave she allowed her child to remain unconscious in the backseat, telling rescue workers not to smash the window and save him until she went 12 minutes away and back to get her keyes. Thankfully, rescuers smashed the window and arrested her ass.

     Citation

The mother who killed her own two children with a dumbbell because she thought they would be better off in Heaven (no shit, you evil bitch).

     Citation

And finally, most shockingly, the 19-year-old man who raped an 18-month-old child and then beat her to death, telling the police she fell out of the bed.

     Citation

      Well, God? Your witness.

ANCILLARY

Someone murdered the hell out of a spammer. You'd be surprised, but my position is that there is no reason people should not be allowed to spam. If we outlaw it, we have to outlaw all advertising, because they're both protected under expression laws. If it causes your computer to seize, that's another matter, but it's easy to delete (just one button) and it's also something that doesn't happen unless you put your address on the internet or give it to someone who sells it to spammers.

And prosecution is one thing, murder is another.

They say it's because of his business. I hope so. But I resent the gleeful attitude most have about another human being's death. We're more civilized than that, I hope.

It's funny, yeah, I'll give you that, but most of the funny is based in being glad that someone who annoys you has been killed, rather than the situation.

      We're better than that.
