![]() Welcome to the home of the very worst of the meretricious poetasters! number 29 for 8-17-05: ![]() Larry Northern, the World's Largest Amoral Prick! There are a ton of news stories that I don't have time for a full essay on. When they build up, that's when we do the lightning round. Number one story, it appears that in our zeal to protect ourselves, giving up, of course, freedom for security, babies are one of our chief threats. There are a ton of people with your name and my name. I want to destroy them all, because they screw up my google search for my own name. But anyway, they exist. And if one Neal Bailey somewhere gets on the "no-fly" list, then I can't get on without rigamarole. Even if, it would seem, I'm a FRICKING BABY! Yeah. Babies are not allowed on the plane if they're on the no-fly list. That sure makes sense. Let's just, you know, say that terrorism starts at, what, FIVE? Citation Mike Cooke, a longtime correspondent and good friend, sends in this article, which is, to put it mildly, insane. Citation I'll put it bluntly. It's an obvious article by a dumb broad with a stick in her craw about how men like sex, and so, in revenge, she has to take it out on them by demonizing their natural behavior. This article ignores the fact that women cheat just as much as men, and tries to categorize cheating in the most cliché, horrible fashion I've ever seen, suggesting that if a guy chats with a girl online he's guilty of "emotional" cheating. The sad thing is that this article, if you read to the end of it (It's hard) was actually suggested by someone. They are paid. I am not. Is it wrong to be angry about that? There are people, right now, who can make cars that can get 250 miles a gallon. Why the fuck aren't we legislating that car companies MUST do this. There is a difference between allowing free reign to companies in a free market economy, and letting a single good (gas) drag our poor into starvation. Let me put it this way. I can't afford gas right now, and I have a somewhat modest income. The poor? They're walking. In ten years, we could have every new car on the road at 50 miles a gallon, easily. All it takes is one bill. An ENERGY bill, unlike the one that just passed, but rather one that actually DOES something. Citation Congressional forecasters are ALL aflutter. Why? Because the deficit is almost a HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS less than it was last year! Yay! Or...wait. Why are we celebrating the fact that though four years ago, we had a surplus, now we only have a THREE-HUNDRED-THIRTY-ONE BILLION DOLLAR deficit? To give you an idea of what this (REPUBLICAN) fiscal irresponsibility and rampant spending costs us: Three hundred thirty-one billion dollars gives six million, six hundred and fifty thousand people a fifty-thousand dollar a year income with NO TAXES. We just lost that because the people we elected to budget can't budget. They can only spend. And when the Republican spin machine turns on for 2006, remember, Democrats tax and spend, Republicans spend without taxing, and we're fucked for it. Both need to tax less and spend less. Neither do. Because they love the power. Citation Unsurprisingly, Roberts is shaping up to be a right-wing round peg, round hole. He argued that striking down school prayer was indefensible. I know there's no stopping this guy. I know there's no stopping an avidly conservative Supreme Court. We voted for it, we're getting it. I don't like it. Citation Cops stop traffic to pick up a kid's toy in England. Sigh. Here, the SUVs would keep going. Citation Next time you peruse the Washington Times (ah, who the fuck am I kidding? Unless you like there, you don't read the Washington Times), know that the leader visited and congratulated Kim Jong Il on his family's 60 year rule. The man who wants all Americans dead. Citation Clinton and Bush both dropped the ball on Bin Laden. This becomes clearer as time goes on. Bush ignored memos, Clinton ignored people telling him Bin Laden was becoming a bigger threat. Why do we tolerate this? Citation In further news about the protestors on the ranch, more people are trying to shut them down and shut them up. I don't personally agree with their tactics, but you know what? It's their fucking right. If the KKK went down the street, what's the best way to deal with them? Ignore them...or... Mow them down with your truck and fire guns at them? Now, the temptation with the KKK is to hit them with trucks, but that's not the right thing to do. You lower yourself to their level. Mowing down the protest signs of a PEACEFUL group of protestors just because you disagree with them makes you a prick. Larry Northern, you are a fucking prick. Look at the picture of Larry Northern. A portrait of the censoring, cowardly bully American prick. Resent him. Hate him. Prick, prick, amoral prick. Citation Fox News, not skipping a beat, AGAIN writes weak-handed prose that FAVORS the action of this auspicious, ignorant douchebag. The logline of the story: "As President Bush's neighbors seek relief from protesters by way of the county commission, one local resident took matters into his own hands and now has been charged with criminal mischief." He's not a renegade asshole...he's a neighbor to Bush. He's not a criminal, he's a local resident. And he didn't mow down the sign of peaceful protestors, he used his balls to "TAKE MATTERS INTO HIS OWN HANDS" and now (regrettably, the subtext suggests) has been charged with criminal mischief. Another nice quote, right after they print quotes from the protestors pointing out that the signs represented the people they knew: "But Sheehan and her group are largely blamed for creating the hostility brewing among the president's neighbors, who have appealed to the McLennan County Commission to erect a barrier that could prevent anti-war protesters from congregating on the road outside Bush's ranch." Here's the deal, Fox fucks. If I say, "Fuck the press." And you take offense to that, that's not my fault. That's the fault of your interpretation of my freedom of speech. If you become violent with me because of that, that's YOUR fault. These people protest peaceably, and then people ATTACK them, they're NOT to blame. Unless, of course, Fox News is in charge. Citation A neighbor has allowed them closer access to the president's ranch. They are moving there now. Citation Citation Prepare for it, because it's coming. As this war draws on, and as more people who support the war (who are violent) want to silence the people who are against it (who are non-violent), prepare for another Kent State. Will a man with a gun shoot one of these protestors? Will a fist-fight erupt? It is only a matter of time. This is what destroys democracies, the inability to peacefully petition a redress of grievances. |
