Abortion is Mercy For the Stupid
The above is a graphic from an article about a group of people who gathered to protest the opening of a porn shop in their community.
Not that they could do the obvious thing and just NOT SHOP THERE or tell their kids NOT TO SHOP THERE considering this is, after all, a free market economy.
You know what would happen if I picketed a cell phone dealership because I think that cell phones contribute to poverty in America, because we think we need a cell phone when we don't and they're fucking expensive? People would laugh at me. And they should. But because some people have this misguided notion that porn hurts children (even though kids have to want to look at it for it to do so, in which case, it's a child hurting himself in a behavior a parent should have stifled), when someone pickets a shop site, it gets news coverage.
The graphic is a nice little bullshit example of how America regards porn. It's a picture from Miss America, and they put it right next to the porn protestor's badly written sign. Coincidental, likely, but very representational all at once. OH NO! PORN! COMING TO GET THE PSEUDO WASP OREO CHICK! HEAVENS SAVE US!
No!!!!! Good Grammar Hear. Apparently, that person is supposed to be a great moral arbiter while not understanding how to properly couch a simple interjection.

In the news, a study was released showing that fetus' may not feel pain.
Fox News immediately jumped on it, releasing an article that purported to talk about the study but instead merely stated its existence and then quoted a bunch of people who thought that it was bullshit in an attempt to discredit while maintaining credibility.
They failed.

Soon after, the people who did the study (despite not editorializing beyond making a conclusion) received a shitload of hatemail from people who do not find it acceptable when someone has an opinion other than their own.

As this news item got some attention, it was then soon reported that Russia has more abortions than live births, because of the staggering poverty of their nation.

But I believe all of these articles have missed the point.
1) It doesn't fucking matter if the fetus feels pain. You know why? No one can remember anything before the age of two. It's like putting down an animal. Far be it for me to assume that a human is an animal, but if it's like unto an animal, it's like pulling the plug of someone in a vegetative state or putting down your cat. It will flail. Its body may feel pain. But it is not like hitting a five-year-old with a bat until she dies, as abortion opponents (IE people who would force their beliefs on yours) would have you believe.
We shouldn't be studying this petty shit. We should be studying ways to cure cancers and diseases in living, breathing, morally discerning human beings.
2) Even if an abortion IS murder, I don't give a solid fuck. You know what? If I could take this starved child:

If I could take any of these children, even after they were born, and BASH THEIR SKULLS into the pavement before they could remember so they would not experience the horrors of this world (and this is just last week's batch), I would do so gladly.
Given a coked out bitch with no money, or even an intelligent, thoughtful woman with a crisis of conscience or a nagging doubt that she would be a bad mom, better the chance to kill a fetus than to have an aborted child who can feel the pain of a fruitless and bullshit existence in poverty, pain, drugs, and without guidance.

And then, realize that the people who could be making observations like the above, instead of having the balls to do so, harp on the novelty of a woman who bitched because her doctor said she was morbidly obese.
And then realize why it is nearly impossible to effect logical change in this mish mashed pseudo abortion of a country.
