The News Tribune Fails at Life (NOOBS)
Well, this is interesting.
I was showing my old articles to some people who asked about them, and I opened my Stacy Fuson expose again, less about the girl, who I have no quarrel with, and more with the news writer who decided that a BEER girl who doesn't even live in Tacoma is worthy of a Tacoma profile in a major Metropolitan newspaper in place of other, let's say more important subjects.
I went to the old article and looked at it, and BOY, was I surprised.
Where before there was a girl with a low cut dress holding beer, there was now, post my article (not sure if it's because of it, doubtful), a picture of what looks like a girl who's just getting her braces, a nice, wholesome, all-American you go girl:
Of course, if this one disappears, I can't help it, so bear with me. It's a citation, but it's also private property, so I can't post, just reference, by my understanding.
Well, that surprised me, so I went and got the old graphic from the St. Pauli site to repost HERE:
So I said to myself, "Why would they do that?"
I thought of a few reasons:
1) My article impacted them negatively, so they had to change the graphic for damage control.
Har de har har. Not bloody likely.
2) They had to take it down because someone at St. Pauli bitched.
Unlikely, and irrelevant. Media that is publicly released as PUBLICITY is re-postable. Check your copyright law. Any newsperson would know this already.
3) The girl's family or the girl complained.
Again, not likely or relevant. If the family or the girl complained, they have to realize that their gal is a BEER GIRL and if they don't like her being publicized as such, selah. But I'm guessing that's not what happened.
In fact, I think it's
4) Someone realized that a low cut girl doesn't fit the wholesome image the article was trying in poor fashion to convey, so they instead inserted a more "wholesome" image.
Well you know what?
You fail, because I was paying attention.
I've replaced the graphic in my old article with the original, and made a note in said article.
If you want to sell something with sex, have the balls to back it up, you shysters.
In this new information based world, you can't do something so petty and then just call it back.
