![]() Welcome to the home of the very worst of the meretricious poetasters! number 79 for 11-2-05: Closed Consession I read the news with a little bit of shock and awe. They decided to shut down the Senate in order to call republicans to task for failing to account for discrepancies between the truth and the lies told to bring us to war with Iraq. This should be a cause for celebration. Yay. They're finally holding people accountable for lying to the public. Can you sense the utter morbid lack of enthusiasm with which I write those words? Look, assholes. 35,000 dead people. A formerly sovereign nation in ruins. Our nation's name in disgrace. Oligarchy. Supression of free speech in both Iraq and America. Secret CIA concentration camps (Citation). Indictments. US sanctioned torture. Prisoner abuse. No WMDs. Osama still free. So now you want some accountability? Now? You fucks. You're more than a little late. You consciously failed to uphold the principles of scrutiny. The republicans, fuck their hearts, at least believed in what they were doing, retarded as it was. Shame on you. Shame on you for suddenly deciding to be stern on this issue after everything bad that could possibly have happened did. WHERE WERE YOU TWO YEARS AGO, YOU PRICKS? WHERE WERE YOU WHEN YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO VOICE THE OPPOSITION? Sure. Let's bring transparency by having a closed session. Let's not have the balls to say the things that need to be said in public, and have a "review" instead of some accountability. My faith in the Democratic Party just fell by a factor of 10.
